Colombia y sus relaciones exteriores. Entre la alineación, autonomía e intereses de la élite

This article explores the history and formation of Colombian foreign relations anchored to the colonial past. It starts from the hypothesis that the origins and formation of Colombia's foreign relations responded to the ideological vision of a Creole power elite that sometimes revolved around an autonomist posture and, at other times, a dependence on a foreign power, but always in defense of its own interests and not those of the nation-state. For its approach, a descriptive type of research and a qualitative approach were used, oriented towards the historical-interpretive documentary review. Among the findings, it is observed that Colombian foreign relations have revolved between coupling and subordination and the power elites have always tried to safeguard their private interests and not the collective ones.
