Abstract
The alloy IN718 (Ni-Fe superalloy) hardened by precipitation, possesses an extensive use for applications both in the aeronautical and military industry due to its good castability, weldability and corrosion resistance, and excellent mechanical properties. In this research, computational simulations were developed to analyze the behavior of an IN718 microstructure subjected to conditions of mechanical stress. An elastic-linear model was established and implemented on IN718 probes with different percentages of the incorporated elements. (Ni-Fe-Cr). Mechanical properties, Young modulus and Poisson ratios were determined for each component of the material. The constitutive equations were solved by the Finite Difference Method (F.D.M). The computational implementations for the two probes were made in Matlab. The results displayed an excellent mechanical contribution from each component of the alloy, increasing the mechanical properties of the alloy evidently. This research can ease the analysis of microstructured alloys with the implementation of computational techniques that facilitate the analysis of mechanical behavior, varying the percentages of each element of the alloy and confirm the various possibilities of applications in the military industry.
