Abstract
This article maintains that, in When the birds didn't sing: stories of the armed conflict in Colombia , a testimonial volume of the Final Report of the Truth Commission (2022), the reader witnesses the configuration of an emotional community of which they form part both human and non-human subjects. This community, precisely because of the affective and emotional charge that underlies it, must be read as an attempt to build a story of a country that, in the midst of its grieving process, shows itself capable of dreaming about the collective construction of other possible futures.
