Abstract
In this article, the life cycles (LC) of three innovative products of Colombian companies are analized. To do this, it was needed performance parameters - units sold - accumulated in time. With these data a comparison among five mathematic models that describe S curves was realized to determine the one that best fits to the life cycle of each product. The chosen model was used to get the turning point in order to make strategic decisions dealing with: determining key moments when launching technological innovations, making investments and executing marketing strategies.
