Evolución de los posgrados en Colombia: Deserción e inactivación

The purpose of this research is to understand the evolution of postgraduate studies in Colombia. Universities are required to have postgraduate studies that respond to the conditions and reality of the country. The question that guided this research: what are the causes and reasons for the dropout of postgraduate students and why the inactivation of a good number of these postgraduate studies? which led to consider, based on the analysis of the results, the strategies and actions that universities must implement according to the requirements of the labor market and the needs of the country. This study was carried out between 2000 and 2022, based on a Systematic Review of Literature and the use of the databases of the National Information System of Higher Education-SNIES (Colombia) and the consultation of the Scopus database, which allowed to build the problem and exploratory analysis research method. These searches were completed with a survey of postgraduate directors, who, based on their experience, offered clues for the analysis of the situation of postgraduate courses, and digital tools were used for the analysis and discussion of the results of the research.
