Abstract
Meteorological data is fundamental to integrate renewable energies in power systems, considering the uncertainty of resource availability, even during short periods. Therefore, reliable weather data is needed to provide accurate forecasts to the power system operators. In this paper, a weather station placement criterion is used in order to further improve future short-term forecasting models for solar and wind energy.
