Abstract

We numerically demonstrate a bending loss reduction of up tõ2.5dB/90° for the quasi-TMmode of a Silicon-on-Insulator waveguide of core size (440×220nm) with a bending radius of 1 μm, using as substrate multilayers of Si/SiO2 .
