Abstract

Optimization of the acid precipitation of soluble silica has been sought from the processed black liquor to the soda of the pulp of the sugar-cane bagasse. The recovery of chemical products and energy of the black liquor is made complicated by the presence of SiO2, which causes surface inlays in heat transfer equipment, diminishing its capacity. A design of experiments in two phases has been carried out in which three factors were studied: acid type, acid concentration and final pH of the liquor.
