Abstract

Within the regional systems of innovation, companies play a preponderant role since they are those who appropriate and use knowledge and impact society. Scientific literature shows that this impact is conditioned by the capabilities in Science, Technology, and Innovation, among others. However, this topic has not been analyzed focused on companies innovative namely companies with specific capacities for innovation. The study analyzed a group of companies that demonstrate results of innovation in terms of products and sales growth, the behavior of the capabilities, and the focus according to the innovative intensity of the companies. Finally, It was found that there is a real and positive effect between innovative and economic performance, and between these two and the resources management and planning capabilities.
