    Abstract

This project seeks to clarify the IEC 61850 concepts and observe what they point to the new developments of it, and then design the telecommunications network in a generic electrical substation with a long life, easy maintenance, reducing copper wiring and technologically updated equipment; using Software Defined Networking (SDN) to manage the flow of data traffic on the network.
