Technological surveillance in advanced steel used in the automotive industry

    Abstract

    This work displays the results of the accomplishment of two exercises: One of technological Surveillance (TS), which was complemented as well with the application of an exercise of prospective with the Delphi method for the identification of the tendencies in investigation, technological development and use of the metallic material Advanced Steel, in the manufacture of parts for the construction of automobiles. The processing and analysis of obtained scientific articles of the data base ScienceDirect® was done with VantagePoint® tool, whereas Delphion® tool was implemented (granted under licenses in demonstration) for the consultation of the different world-wide patents bases. The final result consisted of the selection of a group of subjects referred to the metallic material advanced steel, which can display important fields of applicable investigation and technological development in the manufacture of parts for vehicles with a time horizon until the year 2020 and in agreement with the needs of the Colombian automotive industry.
