UAS design requirements for operation in Colombian mountain environments

    Abstract

    This paper describes the state of the art of UAS technology in Colombia, its potential applications and the design requirements and challenges for a UAS capable of operating in the tropical mountain environments common in this country. A review of research capabilities and manufacturing institutions that could support UAS developments is deeply analyze as well as the position of the government and industry against this technology.
