Abstract
This paper proposes a methodology for the construction of a matrix for the analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the formulation and evaluation of projects, using quantitative risk studies. It starts with a literature review to obtain a description of the analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and its uses, as well as tools in project risk studies. Then, a methodological framework for the construction of the quantitative matrix of analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and the necessary sections to carry out the analysis is shown. This analysis is validated with an application case. It is concluded that, through the quantitative analysis of risks in the projects, subjectivity in the construction of the strategic matrix of analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats can be reduced.
