    Resumen

The objective of this work is to analyze the energy consumption of a system of public passenger electric traction from a systemic perspective, based on the simulation with Dynamics of Systems. As a case study, the Mass Transit Company of the Valley of Aburrá is analyzed. The analysis considers a key archetype for the approach of the dynamic hypothesis: the limits of growth. The results obtained in the simulations showed how the use of the capacity of the electrical infrastructure, with the incorporation of new expansion projects, could limit its capacity to operate in the face of contingencies. It is concluded that the planning must take into account that the efforts done to expand the system are successful in the initial stages, but when they reach the limits of growth and begin to lose effectiveness. Therefore, the performance starts to decrease, affecting the supply capacity of the transport service.
