    Resumen

Various approaches and therapeutic measures are currently available to treat a patient with gastric cancer. Gastrectomy is one of the most commonly used surgical procedures in clinical practice for its treatment. After this procedure is performed, patients may present postsurgical complications which are a challenge in the clinical setting, since they put the health and life of the patient at risk. We have been investigating the correlation between biomarkers and inflammatory stage, and its importance for an early finding of complications in various pathologies or procedures. In the case of gastrectomy this inflammation/biomarker ratio is positive, thus expanding the picture to be able to be a step ahead and prevent a postoperative deterioration of the patient. In this paper we can see how the levels of certain biomarkers are related and their
relationship with complications that put the effectiveness and success of surgery at risk.
