Resumen
Over the past years, supercontinuum generation in photonic crystal fibers, especially in the femtosecond pulse domain, has been the subject of a large number of studies and publications. Here, we present an easy and cost-effective alternative method for producing a broadband supercontinuum in a usual dispersion shifted telecommunication fiber pumped by a microchip subnanosecond laser. The supercontinuum generation, as well as its applications for the biomedical domain, is described in this paper.
