Resumen
Literature suggests that the relationship between wealth generation and Science, Technology and Innovation (STi) is direct and linear, a greater investment in STi leads to a greater wealth generation. However, there is not evidence enough to support such affirmation at country level. This paper analyzes the impact of a set of STi indicators on per capita GDP (pcGDP), as a variable that indicate the wealth generation in a country, associated with its competitiveness. It is concluded that there are more important factors than the STi to explain wealth generation in Iberoamerica.
