Resumen

From the fall of the great paradigms arises the “shock of reality” (“astonishment” at “the indescribable horror, not the beauty, that marks contemporary experience). The action that produces war, terror and horror, in addition to other forms of dispossession of life, which, although it may seem senseless, demand their explanation, more or less plausible, through the revision of our own philosophical and political tradition. For this reason, we need to equip and prepare ourselves, conceptually and methodologically, to revise our concepts and meanings. Naturally, the assumption of this task demands an exercise of collective thought that refuses the old hostility of the philosopher and the jurist towards the concrete, resolutely facing the “enigmas of present experience”. It is no coincidence that Hannah Arendt (in addition to Weil, Benjamin, Adorno, Horkheimer, Marcuse, Neumann, Foucault) tear us away from the realm of abstraction, throwing us into the vicissitudes of reality. and its extreme situations. This article thus presents a call for new forms of reflection and political orientation on the present, and a proposal for thinking and practicing philosophy of human rights, particularly in contexts of violence and the disqualification of life.
