Resumen
This investigation looks for to describe to the level of depression and cognitive impairement in non institutionalised the older men of the city of Cali (Colombia). A sample of 84 older is satisfied, between the 60 and 96 years of age. The type of investigation is cross-sectional. The used instruments were the scale of depression of Yesavage (reduced version) and the test of Pfeiffer. The obtained most significant findings in the investigation are: the absence of depression and cognitive impairement in 58.3% of the older men. And depression established in 8% of the men appears. Significant differences in the degree of depression and the cognitive impairement based on the level of the income exist. Therefore, the depression and the cognitive impairement are fundamental variable to consider in the programs of intervention in the adult population.
