Resumen
The study is focused on describing the procedures for the eligibility of area for forestry project for carbon credits measurement that comply with the standards established a forestry company, following the regulations established by ICOTEC and the financial superintendence. The methodology proposes a review of the 2003-2013 analysis periods using satellite images with LANDSAT sensor, which covered the entire area of interest, allowing to identify the following zones: a) Eligible clean pastures, b) Eligible low secondary vegetation, c) Not eligible fragmented forest and d) Not eligible high secondary vegetation. The results show that the areas subject to forestry projects correspond to clean pastures and secondary vegetation, which yields a value of 2,150 and 523 hectares of the total of 3,223 hectares. The study concludes that the development of environmental projects towards climate change mitigation has become a fundamental initiative for environmental development, as a new vision of sustainability that can improve social conditions while favoring economic aspects.
