Resumen
This paper presents the fractional identification and the design of a fractional order controller for the speed control of a motor-generator system. Initially, basic concepts of fractional calculus, fractional identification, and fractional order PID controller design are presented. Then, the data acquisition of the motor-generator system is performed and a fractional order model of the motor-generator system is obtained using the fractional identification algorithm. After that, an integer order model of the system is obtained using the matlab identification toolbox. From the fractional order model, an integer order PID controller and a fractional order PID controller are designed. Controllers performance is evaluated by comparing the different combinations between the integer and fractional order plants with the integer order PID controller and the fractional order PID controller. Results shows that using fractional order models and controllers improves the performance of the system in the development of positioning and tracking tasks.
