    Resumen

    Context:
Tools for glucose monitoring at both, capillary and interstitial levels, have evolved in precision and accuracy. Specifically, continuous glucose monitoring systems have made it easier to achieve control goals in patients with diabetes. Although the medical literature recommends that the information obtained from these devices should be organized and summarized, the structured process of interpretation is not standardized.
    Objective:
To describe from a practical, simple, and intuitive perspective, the interpretation of continuous glucose monitoring system data.
    Methodology:
A descriptive literature search was performed in the PubMed database and articles relevant to the proposed objectives were selected. Through periodic face-to-face and virtual meetings, a scheme for the interpretation of continuous glucose monitoring records was designed, considering the recommendations of the literature and the personal experience of the authors, to reach a practical consensus.
    Results:
The interpretation objectives were summarized in 4 steps: 1) Determine if the study is reliable; 2) Define the problem; 3) Determine where the problem is; 4) Identify the etiology of the problem.
    Conclusions:
Interpretation of data from continuous glucose monitoring systems should be simple, intuitive, and practical.
