Resumen
This reflective article presents some problematic issues regarding citizen laboratories in the educational context. In these spaces, the aim is to engage in democratic and open social experimentation and citizen innovation with the support of both analogue and digital technological tools. Despite the growing interest in citizen labs within academic literature and the enthusiasm they often inspire in schools and universities, the shortcomings and limitations of these initiatives in the educational sphere have been little discussed. This article highlights three problematic issues: the learnification of educational discourse; the erosion of character in a context of new capitalism; and the silent crisis of education in relation to the humanities and the arts. It is concluded that a significant challenge remains in building bridges between what happens in non-formal and informal educational spaces and what takes place in formal educational institutions such as schools and universities.
