Resumen

The article describes the relationship between liberalism and the Lancastrian system of education as a particularly visible moment in the immanence between current mode of power and education in its school form. The author uses and develops the Foucault notion of liberal governmentality with the expectation of showing how school practices, which served to characterize the Western society as a disciplinarian, can be unders - tood contrarily: taking the current form of power to explain educative and school processes, from the point of view of the constant production of freedom required for the population?s government.
