Resumen
Fetal discordant malformation is a rare condition which affects twin monochorionic pregnancies. It is characterized by genetic and/or structural anomalies, which implies difficulties in the clinical and bioethic approach. Objective: To describe ten cases of discordant malformations, specifically, including structural and genetics anomalies, with a multidisciplinary management in the fetal medicine department of Clínica Universitaria Bolivariana in Medellín, Colombia, to have more knowledge regarding the treatment options and its results. Method: Observational, descriptive and retrospective study of ten cases of discordant malformations in the Clínica Universitaria Bolivariana between January 1st 2012 and December 31st 2022. The search for the systematic review was made in PubMed using Mesh terms“monochorionic pregnancies and malformations”, “discordant defects and monochorionic pregnancies”,“discordant anomalies and twin pregnancies”, between 2012 and 2022, in English and Spanish, and in a fetal medicine textbook. Results: 70% of fetal discordant malformation had an expectant management with similar perinatal and neonatal outcomes found in the literature that was reviewed.
