This paper describes the results of an investigation, which was aimed the formulation and generation of a plan for implementing an innovation strategy by application the methodology of Melissa Schilling, 2010, in a research group in agribusiness of a university of the city of Medellin- Colombia. As a result, was obtained: a) the identification of gaps of technological and innovation in the group, the definition of the key elements for the construction of its strategic direction, b) the classification of projects in derivatives, platform, rupture and advanced within the project Map tool R & D&i. c) analysis and establishment of forms of collaboration for each project, d) the establishment of mechanisms to protect innovation, finally, were applied methodologies to determine a plan for implementing the innovation strategy, such as, tools for generating new services and products, choice of organizational forms of project teams and the identification of the performance parameters of curves in “S”, to analyze and understand the spreading of their future innovations. The results of this project enabled the group to generate a strategic plan consistent with their abilities.
