Resumen
The Aseptic Abscess Syndrome (AAS) is a rare condition, likely underdiag-nosed, characterized by the occurrence of sterile neutrophilic collections in various tissues. These collections do not respond to antimicrobial agents, and treatment primarily involves anti-inflammatory therapy. The literature associating this condition with rheumatoid arthritis is limited. We present the case of a patient with rheumatoid arthritis exhibiting prolonged febrile syndrome and multiple sterile abscesses. The diagnosis of AAS was esta-blished, with resolution of the collections following treatment with corti-costeroid pulses and infliximab. This condition should be suspected in patients with inflammatory diseases who develop abscesses in various tissues without identifiable causative microbial agents.
