Resumen
The recent interest in modelling sociotechnical systems to understand the dynamics of technological change has led to significant advancements in the comprehension of these relationships. One crucial factor to consider is the geographic variable, which is addressed through the analysis of worldwide data over the last four decades. The results are depicted through heat maps illustrating behaviours generated within the sociotechnical system, manifested in key variables and their effects on technological change. The findings reveal a deterministic factor amongst them. To enhance the understanding of this relationship, a temporal lag is incorporated, highlighting the incrementality of technological changes and the accumulation of results as a foundation for new developments. These developments only occur when the sociotechnical system provides stable conditions for their realisation.
