Tecnologías de fabricación digital para la educación en diseño industrial. El laboratorio de fabricación digital del duoc uc en Chile.

Digital technologies are changing conceptual, methodological paradigms and praxis in design disciplines, in professional, educational and research fields. Neil Gershenfeld, creator of Fab Lab concept, proposes a new way of understanding and using technology, suggesting that communities take ownership of technology actively to solve local problems. This text shows the experience of creation and implementation and startup of the Digital Fabrication Laboratory at Duoc UC, Plaza Oeste in Chile, for the Industrial Design program, in the period between 2008 and 2015 year. A qualitative and reflective analysis of the activities and approaches of the laboratory is shown.
