Resumen

Violence against women in the couple is a worldwide public health problem, although in some cultures, its frequency prevents its visibility and that measures are taken to eradicate it. The objective of the work is to analyze the circumstances and types of abuse in a sample of 136 victims of violence in the couple, with an average age of 31.7 years (SD = 8.921), who live in the marginal areas of León (Nicaragua). The research also seeks to study the relationship between such violence and the filing of complaints for the violence exerted on them. The results show that the filing of complaints correlates with the frequency of abuse. In this sense, the victims seem to identify the violence and take measures when it occurs repeatedly. Identifying abuse is a priority objective in cultures where aggressions are normalized in couple dynamics as a consequence of socialization. (English) [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
